The Holy Spirit gives several spirtual gifts, kinda like super powers, with a purpose to make disciples. One of those gifts is the interpretation of tongues, or languages. The Holy Spirit gives disciples the ability to speak or pray in a language they have not studied nor understand, and others don't understand either. And with this, the Holy Spirit also gives disciples the gift of interpretation, the ability to interpret the unknown language (message) so that everyone can understand and be built up. This is an important gift and practice because it's from the Holy Spirit, who is God.
